Lawn care in Long ViewWhat changes from town to town
The Catawba Valley shares the same red clay and the same tall fescue lawns, but each town has its own challenges. In Hickory, big oaks and maples in neighborhoods like Oakwood and Highland mean shade and heavy leaf drop. In Newton, lots get larger toward Startown, and open, sunny lawns see more crabgrass and nutsedge. Conover has a lot of newer subdivisions where topsoil was scraped off during construction, leaving grass on packed clay.
Across the lake in Granite Falls, slopes and lakefront lawns call for careful mowing, pine straw on banks, and extra care with products near the water. Mountain View is mostly subdivisions along NC-127, many with HOA rules on grass height, weeds and edging. And in Long View, compact lots with fences, sidewalks and driveways have a lot of edges to keep sharp, plus rental yards and small businesses along US-70.
Scheduling across the valley
We are based in Hickory, so every town on this page is a short drive. We group visits in each area on the same days so schedules stay reliable, and customers with property in more than one town can have everything on one route. You do not need to be home for a visit; we just need gate access and a note about pets, sprinkler heads or anything else to watch for.
